Pediatric Innovation Retreat - Pittsburgh, PA

Submission deadline: April 30, 2018

The McGowan Institute, in collaboration with Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, SciVelo, and the Philadelphia Pediatric Device Consortium, is hosting the 2nd Annual Pediatric Innovation Retreat on July 13, 2018 at the William Pitt Union. The program will be comprised of "game changing" technology presentations, translational practicums, a keynote luncheon, and moonshot pitches. The Retreat Planning Committee is seeking abstracts for the following:

  • "Game Changing" Podium Presentation - Groundbreaking technology in your laboratory, clinic, or enterprise with the potential to disrupt the healthcare, life sciences, or pediatric market
  • "Moonshot Idea Pitches" - High-risk, high-reward propositions that have the potential to stimulate ideation and collaboration

Bay Area NSF Innovation Corps - San Francisco, CA

Application deadline: May 18, 2018

The NSF Innovation Corps is aimed at training entrepreneurs, building partnerships between academia and industry, and commercializing science and technology. The Bay Area I-Corps is offering an immersive course on three evenings in June. Teams that complete the course and receive instructor endorsement are eligible for the national program and a $50,000 grant.

Intuitive Surgical, Inc. is accepting applications for grants to further research in the field of surgical robotics. Researchers at non-profit institutions worldwide are eligible to apply for $10,000 - $50,000 of funding per project.
