Science, Technology & Engineering Network

In parallel to our clinical strengths, the PDC offers science and engineering expertise in-house and through faculty at UCSF and nearby institutions. Our three full-time PDC engineers, Dillon Kwiat, Alex Balus, and Rich Fechter, provide on-the-ground assistance to pediatric device innovators – from early-stage technical vetting to design, prototyping and benchtop testing. In addition to our in-house capabilities, we collaborate with investigators and students from UC Berkeley, San Francisco State University, and San Jose State University to find the technical expertise and team members to help early stage projects get off the ground.
