Elizabeth Gress, MPA
Project Manager, UCSF-Stanford PDC RWE Project; Director of Partnerships, Communications & Regulatory Affairs, The Kidney Project
Liz holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College. During her 15-year career running medical device innovation and entrepreneurship programs at UCSF, she has advised and supported numerous medtech startups with their regulatory strategy and FDA interactions, clinical trial set-up, SBIR grant writing, and startup operations. Liz has deep experience building technical programs and multidisciplinary teams, managing academic research and industry collaborations, and finance and administration. She has guided three medical device implants to FDA IDE approval.
A founding member of the UCSF PDC, Liz led the PDC’s operations and development from 2009 to 2019. In 2019, she moved into a new role as Director of Partnerships, Communications & Regulatory Affairs for The Kidney Project at UCSF. Liz remains involved in the PDC as project manager for the Real-World Evidence project, where she contributes her knowledge of pediatric device regulatory affairs and FDA interactions to lead the RWE team towards achievements of the project's aims.
